Case Studies

Natural Gas Storage

We partnered with a client to guide their project from pre-application through federal, state, and local approvals, implementing a comprehensive strategy that included media relations, governmental affairs, and statewide community outreach. By controlling messaging, educating stakeholders on gas storage risks and realities, and leveraging events, sponsorships, and speaking tours, we built broad support and ensured a smooth approval process.

Strategic Development Support

We deliver comprehensive governmental affairs support for development projects by managing regulatory strategy, agency coordination, and engagement with local, regional, and state decision-makers. Our approach includes informing the general public, building broad-based coalitions, and cultivating an informed supporter base that actively participates in the public process to ensure the coverage necessary for moving projects forward. This integrated strategy reduces risk, shapes outcomes, and advances projects efficiently from proposal to approval.

Energy Natural Gas Pipeline

McNicholas & Associates was hired to lead communications and logistical efforts around objectives on numerous energy projects across multiple states. Our team consulted executive leadership, and the internal communications and outreach departments through the multistate projects.  We worked with leadership to identify and retain local Government Affairs consultants in impacted communities, managed and coordinated all logistics for open houses and public meetings, from team hotel rooms to venue contracts, developed collateral material for open houses, and formalized training with internal departments to establish subject matter experts.

Industry Education

We provided comprehensive, full-scale public affairs and public relations support to defend and advance Florida’s agricultural industry amid sustained activist pressure. Our work included strategic communications and media relations, statewide community outreach, and robust public education initiatives, including a speakers bureau and local farm tours, to ensure accurate information reached policymakers, stakeholders, and Florida residents. Through broad coalition building and coordinated grassroots engagement, we strengthened industry credibility, mobilized informed supporters, and helped shape a more balanced and fact-based public dialogue.

High Profile Litigation

We worked directly with corporate legal counsel to organize, manage, and communicate the company’s legal goals and strategies; this included employee, executive, and public communications.
